Glory

Think a tennis court is just for friendly matches? Think again. In the country club world, that's a battlefield right there. (Source)

You didn't bring someone back from cardiac arrest, and you aren't teaching inner-city youth the periodic table. But, in your defense, you rescued one of the club members from the horrors of a prawn cocktail with too much horseradish last Thursday. And then, later that same day, you resolved a dispute over a tennis court that had been double-booked.

Is your job glorious? No. But do your job well, and you might get a lot of super- to semi-enthusiastic thank you's—or, at least, "Thank you, but my golf caddy was supposed to be here fifteen minutes ago, and where is the ice cooler I requested?"

That's just as good, if not better.
