Not great. Because the money is so good, the competition is super-stiff. You’ll need to be a whiz at this stuff to break through. There’s also not much in-between - either you make it and you’re phenomenally successful or it just plain doesn’t work out. Very similar to the extremes present in the world of film acting. Except that, when you make it as a hedge fund manager, you don’t necessarily need to be found dead of a drug overdose before your 28th birthday.
