Sign Holder. Salary: $25,000 or less 

You have one job: hold the "Slow Down" sign to warn the drivers of the maintenance crew and keep everybody safe. Simple. Boring. You have to do it for eight hours in the sun. On the plus side, that's all you have to do today.

Pot-Hole Filler-Inner. Salary: $30,000 

Having proven you can work well as part of a team, you get promoted from mere sign holder to pothole fixer. The weather's still hot and sticky as ever, but you're moving around a lot, so it's less bothersome. You pick up the work flow pretty easily and become a pretty decent asset to your team.

Movin' On Up Truck Driver. Salary: $34,500 

You've finally been upgraded to working with the trucks, but you're still getting used to all of their functions. The first day working with the maintenance machines, you do pretty well, but your timing is slower than preferred. You'll have to learn to pick up the pace if you ever want to become more than an entry-level maintenance worker, but you're determined to get there.

Certified Lift Off. Salary: $36,000 

Over the past few years, you've proven that you're an asset to the team and can get things done quickly. You're on your way to becoming certified for the Ariel Lift Device, one of the final (and most prestigious―that means bigger bucks) certifications you can get. Lookin' good, hombre.

Courageous Crew Leader. Salary: $45,000 

Another rookie joins your team today. They always send you the newbies because you're the best at training the new workers to become pros out in the field. Your crew is the fastest and most efficient in the state. You might not get a whole lot of recognition, but as a crew leader, you know how important the work you're doing is.
