Qualified surgeons are always in demand. Since we as a race love to shoot at each other, qualified Military Trauma Surgeons are no exception. The catch for getting in comes with the "qualified" part. Medical school is challenging (and expensive). Residencies are notoriously taxing on social lives and sleep patterns where 90-hour work weeks are commonplace. What we are trying to say is that the odds of getting in kind of depend on you rather than some outside uncontrollable force. Do well in school and make it through your residency, and you're in.
