About Me

Intro

I know this is coming, so I'm just going to clear this out of the way now. No, I'm not located in the Dominican Republic. Need proof? Here.

Ca-li-for-nia.

Some of you might be thrown off by the fact that I was once an all-girls Catholic college way back in the day. Nah, I get it. It's okay. Truth is, I am mostly female, but boys are allowed here, too.

If you can get past that, I'm actually a total dream school. I'm located only thirty minutes away from San Francisco in the small, quaint town of San Rafael. I'm only fifteen minutes away from downtown and ten minutes away from some of the most gorgeous hiking in trails in this area. Anything you could possibly want is less than an hour away.

Not that I need to ride on the coattails of the places around me. As a campus, I'm jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Rain or shine, I'm always green and full of beautiful (and often exotic) plants. Also, I'm pretty affectionate. You can barely walk to class without waving to at least one person.

Need I say more?

Name

Chilly the Penguin. Adorable, I know.

Hometown

San Rafael, California. No elaborate pronunciation necessary.

Birthdate

1890

Body Type

I'm lovable and petite with just a little over 2,000 undergraduates. I'm pretty much the size of a big high school, so it's very cozy here. After one class here, you'll pretty much know your classmates for the rest of your undergraduate career.

I'm also only one campus, which makes it very easy to find your classes and to be on time, even if you end up rolling out of bed ten minutes before class (which does happen).

Current Living Situation

Students typically live on campus because you can't beat being able to walk to class in five minutes. Freshmen will either live in the '70s-looking dorm known as Pennafort, which has a piano and a secret patio, or in Fanjeaux, fondly known as the Harry Potter dorm for its ivy, winding staircase, and overall medieval look.

Once you survive freshman year, you can live in the on-campus apartments, known as Edgehill Village. If living on campus is too much financially, there are also off-campus apartments. These are traditionally passed down from the seniors to their underclassmen friends. I like to call this the hermit-crab effect.

Relationship Status

I don't really have any enemies. I tend to be competitive with any sports team I face. It's just in my nature, especially at lacrosse games.

However, I've been known to be very friendly with Cal Maritime, the predominately male school. And considering how three-quarters of my students are girls, this certainly has its perks.

Religion

I'm of Catholic heritage. I used to only accept girls and mass was mandatory, but now I'm open-armed and welcoming to both sexes. I even accept non-Catholics, but the sisters live next door in case students have a sudden urge to join the sisterhood. Also, mass is on campus and totally optional.

You should apply to me if...

if you like knowing and interacting with people, like beautiful, nature-filled spaces, you're science-oriented, or you want to become a teacher.
