What's in Shmoop?

Test Prep

Every Test Prep Guide includes a diagnostic exam, hundreds of drills with answer explanations, comprehensive topic review, and multiple full-length practice exams. As they work their way through our exam prep, students can earn Shmoints to help incentivize studying. We even have teacher guides for SAT and ACT, which provide 4- and 14-week lesson plans to help you get your students ready for test day.

Virtual Classrooms and Gradebook

Teachers can monitor students' progress at an individual and class-wide level. We offer the ability to assign drills, grade assignments, leave comments, and send messages to individual students or the entire class. Plus, Shmoop has partnered with leading LMS providers (including Moodle, Haiku, and Canvas) to build a seamless experience for teachers and students using LTI-compliant systems.

Courses

Our Online Courses include day-by-day standards-aligned curriculum for over 300 courses, many of which are credit recovery-enabled. Use them in your blended learning classroom by having students interface directly with Shmoop, create your own custom courses, or pillage our material for your own in-class lesson plans. We have core courses for middle and high school in math, ELA, and history, and cover over a dozen subject areas.

Analytics

Our premium analytics tool allows administrators to understand how teachers and students are using the product. You'll get various metrics including time spent on Shmoop, number of active students, number of student sessions, number of drills taken, number of practice exams taken, number of active teachers, number of teacher sessions, number of pages viewed, and breakdown of use by test and classroom. And those are just the ones we could say before we ran out of breath.

Teaching Guides

Shmoop Teaching Guides are idea generators that will help you spice up an old favorite or light a spark the first time you teach a subject. Covering literature, history, civics, economics, digital literacy, and math, our Teaching Guides are a hidden gem that will supplement your lesson plans. Get activity ideas, pop culture shout-outs, reading quizzes, and more. And, of course, catch up on some sleep.

Customer Support

We pride ourselves on our customer service. Each account is assigned an account manager, who lives and breathes Shmoop and will dedicate themselves to your school or district. They'll offer teacher training, and they'll be at the ready whenever anyone on your end has questions. We also have an easy-to-reach support line for less urgent issues: all messages are answered within 24 hours, Monday-Friday
