Amy Timeline and Summary

Everything we know about Amy we learn from her diary since she's dead when the book opens.
Amy is born to a single mom.
She lives in California near her cousin, Dani, until her mother dies of heart failure.
Amy moves to Raynesville with Grammie, where she doesn't exactly fit in.
She develops an intense crush on Jake West and writes about him obsessively in her diary.
One day, Amy overhears Jake saying he "prefers a little less girl" (18.11).
Amy brushes off Jake's snub but decides to start exercising and eating better.
She's invited to the Bus by the popular kids, but gets attacked while playing the Game.
She also starts an affair with her teacher, Mr. Dermott.
At the end of her junior year of high school, Amy decides that she's going to tell the school board exactly what Mr. Dermott has been doing.
Mr. Dermott follows Amy in her car to try to stop her and watches as she drives off the road over a cliff and dies.
Amy's death is ruled a suicide.
