First up, we'll start with the elephant in the room: the Breakfast at Tiffany's most people have heard of isn't a book. It's not even a restaurant. This text is most famous for its film incarnation with Audrey Hepburn—which is admittedly only somewhat based on Capote's novella.

For students who have seen (and loved) the film, one of the challenges will be differentiating between the novella and the film for your students—particularly since the film has a happy ending, while the novella not so much so. Capote's text is sad because the two leading characters don't end up together.
