The Faerie Queen

Character Analysis

The Great Fairy

The Faerie Queen appears on only a few pages, but she knocks down a domino that causes a chain reaction we imagine will take a few books to resolve.

We've covered The Kiss (you know the one) on Jace, Clary, and Simon's page, so need to get into that steamy love triangle again, but we do need to mention that she calls Clary and Jace "Valentine's little experiments" (2.8.341)… but we don't learn exactly what she means in this book. Is this like when Facebook experiments on us? Or more like animal testing?

Jace says, "she played us like the instruments we are to her" (2.9.34). Perhaps he means they got played like Mortal instruments? Whatever the Queen meant by it she played us too, because we'll have to read the next book to find out. Dangnabbit, cliffhangers! We wish we knew how to quit you.
