Character Analysis
Holmes meets Georgiana in a department store. He seduces her through his usual means and entices her to live a bigger, more glamorous life in Chicago. She believes Holmes' uncle has just died in Texas and left him a big property in Fort Worth (though it's actually Minnie Williams' uncle's property).
Georgiana agrees to marry Holmes, who's using his alias Henry Mansfield Howard. Georgiana doesn't stick around for long. After the fair she flees with Holmes to Texas, and it's unclear what happens after that.
But we're pretty sure that Georgiana doesn't exactly get a happy ending.
