Character Analysis
The only woman in the film barely has on any clothes. Shocker. Miss Scott is General Buck Turgidson's bikini babe secretary/mistress. We first meet her tanning under a heat lamp in her bikini. Overall, Miss Scott is a one-dimensional stock character, the floozy female without a thought in her head. She pouts about Bucky being too busy in the War Room to come home to give her, um, attention.
Tracy Reed, the actress who plays Scott, also appears briefly in a Playboy magazine held by Kong where she poses as a centerfold named Miss Foreign Affairs. The character's function seems to be giving the viewers some eye candy, and fleshing out, so to speak, the idea that sexual motives are behind all the aggressive military posturing.
