Forgotten Fire Chapter 14 Summary

  • After hiding out in the house, Vahan goes out in the morning one day. He knows he can't stay in that house forever, so he heads outside, hoping to find somewhere else to stay.
  • What he actually finds is the body of his brother Sisak on the streets. He's still alive—but barely.
  • Vahan drags Sisak to the empty house where he's been staying, and tries to nurse him back to health.
  • He figures out Sisak has a fever and needs medicine, but Vahan doesn't have any. As he's trying to help his bro, Vahan laments his position in life. He's the younger brother—it should be that Sisak is taking care of him, but instead he's got to help his older brother and he's not sure how.
  • Vahan tells Sisak he's sorry he went the wrong way—he didn't want to lose his brother—but Sisak says he went the wrong way too.
  • Sisak sleeps and Vahan wishes he could give his brother his own breath to fix him.
  • It's too late for Sisak though. Vahan tries to stir him and say his name, but his brother has already died.
  • Vahan gets up and walks outside of the house.
