Forgotten Fire Chapter 30 Summary

  • Everything seems empty after Seta's death. Vahan still goes about doing chores and working in the field, but nothing is like it was—for him or the Tashians.
  • None of them really talk to one another these days.
  • Sometimes Vahan thinks about how he'll never see Seta again, and it breaks him—when he tells Mrs. Tashian that he misses Seta, he realizes that she does too.
  • He hadn't even noticed before how sad she'd been since Seta got sick, and how much she desperately wanted that kid.
  • Three days later, Mrs. Tashian has a stroke; she dies a few days after that.
  • Dr. Tashian and Vahan bury her near the garden and say a prayer for her. There's nothing left to say.
  • Now the house seems emptier than before, so Vahan decides to leave Sivas soon. He can't stay in this place with all these sad memories anymore.
