- Eddard lies delirious in the dungeon (which we think was the name of a hit dance song of the 90s), thinking about the past: about the tournament he saw when he was eighteen, when Prince Rhaegar gave a flower to Lyanna (which was prelude to his awful abduction and rape of her), and the promise that he made to Lyanna while she was dying.
- Back in the present, Varys sneaks in to visit Eddard and lays out the plan: if Eddard confesses, he'll be able to join the Night's Watch. Eddard refuses that plan until Varys points out that Sansa might suffer if he doesn't play along.
