The Secret Life of Prince Prospero

Did you know Prince Prospero worships Satan? And that one of his guests dresses as an ape, gets tied to a chandelier, and burned alive? No, that's not how Poe wrote it, but when adapting a story of only fourteen paragraphs into a feature length film, the filmmakers have to flesh out the material. Here's the trailer for the original movie version, starring horror icon Vincent Price as Prospero. Poe focused on building a sense of dread through atmosphere and visual imagery, but the story is light on plot. This is an interesting take on what really could've been happening in the castle.
