There are plenty of allusions to sexuality in Roots, but most of them are completely innocent and not at all explicit. There are several scenes that allude to sexual violence, however, as well as the gruesome depiction of a rape.
While these scenes aren't at all used for shock value (and instead convey uncomfortable but necessary truths about the impact of American slavery on women), they should come with a major trigger warning.
Consider this that T.W.—as well as the warning to keep the smaller kiddos away from Roots until they're older.
