Character Analysis
The people in the mining town are a rough-and-tumble group, many of whom are mercenaries left with nothing to do after the world war is over. They spend their Saturday nights getting drunk and looking for young men to rape, and spend the rest of the week working very dangerous jobs for lots of money.
