Gyaar Ryuu

Even though Gyaar isn't exactly a bad guy, he's the antagonist for our hero. Why? He's in direct opposition to Cam on the battlefield and in his search for what happened out there. Gyaar might not be as brutal as his old man, but he's the one that Cam comes face-to-face with the most. In a twist on the classic antagonist, luckily for Cam Gyaar's actually a pretty decent dude.

In some ways though, this makes things harder for Cam because he bonds with the guy he's supposed to be fighting against. Gyaar is at the root of Cam's trouble, though, since he's the person responsible for Cam being the sole Downlander to survive the war—prompting a cold welcome when he returns home from battle, and inspiring Cam to set back out almost immediately.
