Tuck Everlasting Chapter 9 Summary

  • It's hot, and our little party has to trek pretty far to get to the Tucks' house. Winnie puts on Mae's hat, and Miles has to pick her up when she gets really wiped out.
  • They go for what seems like ages, up and down through the hot countryside, before they finally pass through a row of pine trees and see the Tucks' home.
  • It's next to a little pond, and Miles and Jesse don't waste any time in jumping right in.
  • Mae and Winnie head up to the house, where Winnie meets Tuck. She's a little nervous, but that goes away quickly as he welcomes her with his whole heart. She likes and trusts him right off the bat. And Tuck is overwhelmingly pleased to see Winnie—it's like she's famous or something.
