Librarian

We'll be honest. We listened to "Marian the Librarian" from The Music Man to pump ourselves up just now. Why? Well, the role of school librarians is changing faster than you can say "International Standard Book Number," and if Marian were to take a peek at your job description, she'd probably be quaking in her adorable patent leather high heels.

Luckily, we've got spades of great resources to help you help your students.

1. Literature Guides

Our smart, thorough, and irreverent Literature Guides have been grabbing students' attention for years. Each Lit Guide includes book and chapter summaries, character analyses, themes, web resources, and more. Use them to familiarize yourself with new bestsellers or brush up on the classics so you can give students great book recommendations. (Got native Spanish speakers? They may be interested in our Lit Guides in Spanish.)

2. General Learning Guides

But wait! There's more! The Literature Guides are just one of our many sets of Learning Guides. Do you know students passionate about mythology, economics, finance, or music? We've got amazing content to feed their curiosity (and yours).

3. Life Planning

As the school librarian, you're basically an unofficial school counselor. Be ready for students' questions about picking a college, paying for school, or finding the perfect career with Shmoop's college and career planning tools.

4. Digital Literacy

Are you the benevolent dictator of your school's computer lab? Teach students the basics of digital literacy (from research dos and don'ts to Snapchat safety) with our Digital Literacy Course or Teaching Guides. A Shmoop subscription gives you access to all of it.

You're on a mission to connect students with the best information available, from Dickens to databases, and we're on a mission to make that job easier for you.

Interested in getting Shmoop into your school or district? Email sales@shmoop.com and let our Sales Shmooperstars know who you are and what you're looking for.

Just have a question about something in Shmoopland? Hit us up at support@shmoop.com. It's kind of gross how often we check our email, so we'll get back to you in the blink of a cursor.
