About Me

Intro

"The 'T,' the 'U,' 'S-K-E,' that 'G,' double 'E,' TUSKEGEE, HEY, WOOH!"

You're liable to hear this at any sporting event, Homecoming function, or casual day in The Yard. Between you and me, I have a reputation for molding students into the most spirited adults on this side of the Mason-Dixon.

More than that, though, I have a reputation for being a tough school that produces some of the best. You've probably heard about me at some point. With a rep like mine, I can't exactly keep things under wraps. But then, why would I? I've got a lot to be proud of.

I'm the only HBCU (Historically Black College or University) with an accredited aerospace engineering program, I have one of the top veterinary medicine programs in the world, and I established the first baccalaureate nursing program in the state of Alabama.

It's a lot, but look: when you were founded by the legendary Booker T. Washington, you sort of have an image to uphold.

Aside from academic achievement, I have a thing for community service and social activism. Again, I have a reputation to think about. I've got to make Booker proud—that's why, when I'm not challenging my students to take their education to new heights, I'm doing my part to change the world for the better.

If you're up for a challenge and the best experience of your life, I'm the school for you.

Name

Golden Tigers

Hometown

"Thou Pride of the Swift Growing South," more commonly known as Tuskegee, Alabama.

Birthdate

July 4, 1881

Body Type

With around 3,000 students, I consider myself petite and a bit slim; however, I'm on no strict diet, and I'm always looking to gain more. My small size works to my advantage, actually—if I were a big, hulking Goliath, I wouldn't be able to promote the family environment and sense of inclusiveness that I'm so proud of.

My student to faculty ratio is 14:1, which allows the professors to specifically cater their instruction to match the personalities of the students. I like to think that that's why my academics are so great.

Current Living Situation

Many of the dorms that still stand on campus today were built by some of the first classes of students, but I'm happy to say that they don't have 19th-century A/C systems. Gotta keep up with the times—especially when the times introduce climate control to Alabama.

All freshmen are required to live on campus their first year. I've got a mix of community-style and suite-style dorms, aimed to please various needs and accommodations. The dorms are where you'll begin making those lifelong friends, so be sure to smile when you introduce yourself.

Following your sophomore year, you'll be free to choose where you live: in a dorm, in one of the four on-campus apartment buildings, or off-campus. No matter where you go, I guarantee you'll be with some great people.

Relationship Status

Alabama State. Man, I hate that guy. He thinks he's so special, just because he's a giant state school. Well, I've got news for you, buddy—I'm going to crush you in football.

You should apply to me if...

you're down to learn how to change the world and have fun while doing it.
