Thank you We sneak in College one Oh one community

00:11

Let's talk about the various things you need to consider

00:14

when deciding where to go to college Some of it

00:16

could be the politics of that part of the country

00:19

You might live in a really conservative area of the

00:21

country and you think this isn't me I want to

00:23

try something else and a lot of high schools the

00:26

students think that they are pretty liberal or pretty conservative

00:30

on they're actually not they think they're liberal but then

00:33

they visited true liberal college and they think wow i

00:37

didn't realize people could actually be this liberal and left

00:39

leaning on the issues that i really care about and

00:41

similarly there are a lot of students who think they're

00:43

pretty conservative but then they visit a really conservative college

00:47

and they think wow that is way out there So

00:50

i think that's the important thing about getting out there

00:51

to visit some of the colleges or at least research

00:54

them and just find out that what you're maybe high

00:56

school's smaller slice of the pious is nothing compared to

00:59

the big natural national structure of wait can also think

01:02

about school spirit and the definition of school spirit varies

01:06

A little bit but one of the categories that's sports

01:09

and does that mean that you're all painting your face

01:11

is up and you know wearing the school sweatshirt around

01:14

all day long Do you look forward to the big

01:16

football game on the weekends with tens of thousands of

01:19

students there But we find that some small colleges also

01:22

have a lot of school spirit just on a smaller

01:24

scale so they have a smaller stadium for the basketball

01:28

games but students pack that another category of school spirit

01:32

is the arts and this is something that a lot

01:34

of the art students that i've worked with are pretty

01:37

excited to find out that school spirit also convene your

01:40

friends your haul your classmates coming out when you're at

01:43

a place i'm serious lead in the play and they're

01:46

there for you in the play is over congratulating even

01:48

hugging you or you're playing an instrument in the orchestra

01:52

same kind of thing they're there to cheer you on

01:54

but it's not sports but there are a lot of

01:56

colleges that don't really have much in the way of

01:58

school spirit on a kind of traditional flik line of

02:01

things so i think you just need to figure out

02:03

do you want to be all rara or not quite

02:05

as much and figure out where you are in that

02:07

spectrum Consider the politics of your college Are you more

02:12

conservative or liberal Consider your colleges school spirit Does it

02:17

move you It is your college have a good sports

02:20

team you really care Does your college have a good

02:23

art program Is school spirit important to you How so
