While the rest of the world may not know or care about your hard work and devotion to your craft, your art department brethren will—and the folks at the Hollywood Foreign Press surely will. Who the heck are these guys? Well, we haven’t seen them, but it’s fun to imagine that they might look something like this.
Will you ever win the Oscar for best Production Design? Probably not. But who knows? Someone’s got to, right? If you pull it off, you’ll have 45 seconds to say something pithy. You might want to take a gander at this checklist so you don’t do anything stupid, like forget to thank your spouse or mother (or Shmoop).
If you don’t win an Oscar, maybe you’ll have better luck winning an Art Director’s Guild Award. It’s not as heavy of a statue, but it still counts nonetheless.
