Stress

Telecommunications tech stress is average, most of the time. Why? Well, you're smart enough to know someone in your job doesn't just sit around and wait for something to go wrong before fixing it. You test. You monitor. You adjust as you go along. There's plenty of tasks to keep you busy. Maintaining the systems is much easier than recovering from a crash.

A crash is bad, and stressful. It's like everyone you work with is staring at you and tapping their collective toe as if to ask, "Is it done yet?"

Listen, sometimes the domino effect happens in the electronic world—one system goes down, triggering another and another and another. Sure it's stressful at times, but like anything else you'll just take it one day at a time, learn from the situations that turn into nightmares, and leave some time for decompressing at the end of the day if need be.

Even a bad day in telecommunications isn't as stressful as working on the bomb squad or cooking in Hell's Kitchen. Talk about stressful. No thanks. You'll gladly stay right where you are.
