What would the world do without 365 Everyday Value Extra Virgin Olive Oil 100% Mediterranean Blend, the number one most popular item at Whole Foods? It'd be a catastrophe. Salads would go naked, undressed, ashamed at their lack of vinaigrette. Pastas would be exclusively covered in alfredo or tomato sauces. And that organic balsamic vinegar crafted in Italy and made with organic grapes would grow so, so lonely.
And what would the people do if they couldn't find said olive oil? What if they wandered the store, searching down aisle after aisle after aisle, hunting high and low, only to despairingly give up and go home? It'd truly be a nightmare. Good thing you're there to rescue a wayward customer from their wandering.
Your efforts as manager of an organic grocery don't exactly add up to anything glorious, but you can certainly feel proud that you keep a large store stocked and running. It's not easy to keep food on the shelves and a whole passel of employees happy, so if you have it all under control, give yourself a pat on the back. Or have one of the cashiers do it for you.
