Fame

Fame is hardly what a woodworker is after when choosing the field. If anything, this is a job for those who prefer the peace of working in solitude (or at least the relaxing lull of loud machinery drowning out any nearby human voices).

If you start your own shop, you'll likely build a reputation among your client base and begin gaining some popularity in the local area for your craftsmanship. It might even get to the point that you can't take on all the clients who call requesting your much talked about skills. In terms of woodworker fame, that's pretty much hitting the big time. Just don't expect to get a call from HGTV anytime soon to host your own home improvement show. Let's keep it humble.
