Break It Up

Break It Up

The police sometimes create traffic breaks to slow down traffic for a variety of reasons, such as clearing something from the road or attempting to prevent a collision during a heavy fog. If you see a law enforcement vehicle turn on its rear emergency lights, slow down, and then begin snaking back and forth in-between the lanes, they are either initiating a traffic break or have had one too many vodka gimlets.

Assume it’s a traffic break and turn on your emergency lights as well to warn other drivers who may not see the police car. Slow down so that you are traveling at the same speed as the officer in front of you, but don’t get too close to them. Just pretend you’re the second float in a very slow-moving parade, and the first float is way cooler and more important than you are.
