When there is a very bad fog outside, only go out in it if you absolutely must. Aside from it creating dangerous road conditions, fog is a perfect hiding place for vampires.

If you must brave the fog, drive more slowly than you would ordinarily, and use your low beam headlights. Don’t use your high beam headlights, as these will reflect off the fog and may temporarily blind you or others. And no, this would not qualify you to park in a handicapped parking space.

Leave more room between yourself and other vehicles than usual, and be on your tippy-toes for any unexpected activity. Activate your windshield wipers and defroster if it becomes difficult to see through your windows. Opening your eyes and not crying may also help.

If it gets really, really bad, don’t tempt fate. Pull off the road as soon as it is safe, and wait for the fog to lift. Turn off your lights so other cars don’t think you’re moving and drive off the road right into you. That would be a pretty good trick though.
