Glory

Attaining glory in the diving world isn't exactly easy. To get anything resembling actual recognition you have to go through an elaborate qualifying process. No matter how talented you are.

To approach the spotlight, first you need to get a qualifying score in an official competition. That gets you into one of the five "Zone Diving Competitions," which are based on location. From there, you've got to do well enough to earn one of the coveted spots in the NCAA Championships, or all that hard work was for naught and you go home unrecognized (source).

After all of that, you might be able to do well enough to earn a collegiate title in your particular event, which is pretty cool. If you're really, really good, you can move on to national or international competitions. If you're beyond extraordinary, you may have a shot at actually winning an Olympic medal. That'd be some pretty sweet bling (source).
