Fame

If you signed up for rifle for the fame, then you're in for a rude awakening.

Annie Oakley, maybe? Tom Knapp? Hmm. Yeah, there aren't very many famous shooters whose names are known to the general public, unless you count those involved in...well, very unfortunate events. John Wilkes Booth, for example. Lee Harvey Oswald. We won't go there, though.

The thing is, in the rifle world, you'll be a legend. There will be a very niche group of people who know your name and everything about you. But...that's a bit of a longshot. You'll have to be the best of the best of the best. It's not like you can just be on the Pro Rifle team (is there even such a thing?) and be a household name.

Sorry, Shmooper. That's the rifle life.
