- Holy palm trees, Batman—we must be in California. "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is playing.
- As Rob drives Alvy and Annie in his convertible, he explains that, since he's moved to Beverly Hills, he's never been more relaxed. He's still calling Alvy "Max" constantly.
- Alvy makes it clear that he still hates California, and, as "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" plays, we're treated to a montage of sights like Fatburger and a theater playing House of Exorcism that really punctuates Alvy's feelings about sunny SoCal.
- In an editing booth, Alvy watches Rob give a sound engineer instructions for adding a laugh track to a scene from his new TV show. Alvy finds it disgusting—so gross, in fact, that he gets really dizzy and has to lie down.
- Cut to the hotel. A doctor visits Alvy, who's super-nauseated. The doc can't find anything wrong with him.
- Annie tells Alvy she got him out of the TV appearance.
- Suddenly, Alvy's all about scarfing down the room service chicken that just a few moments ago he couldn't stomach.
