Arawn Sightings

  • The First Branch of the Mabinogion 1301 - 1400

Part 1 of this great work tells all about me and Pwyll. It details the story of how he stole my kill at the hunt and how we switched places for a year. This brings back lots of memories—mostly good ones.

  • The Fourth Branch of the Mabinogion 1301 - 1400

Oink! Here's the story of Pryderi, son of Pwyll. He was a great warrior, but I like to think I helped him come to prominence by giving him the first pigs ever seen in Wales.

  • Cad Goddeu 1301 - 1400

This poem, called "The Battle of the Trees," recounts my warlike abilities, which are awesome. I fought against Amaethon, a god who was the son of Don, the great mother goddess. Amaethon stole some of my pets and I was able to get them back with the help of devious Gwydion.

  • The Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander 1964

Here, I'm a bad guy, for no real reason at all, in the Chronicles of Prydain! I'm called the "Death-Lord," probably because I'm master of Annwn, and use some guy called the Horned King as my war leader. Humph!

  • Wraethu by Storm Constantine 1901 - 2000

I'm not as bad here. In Wraethu, I hang out with a science-fiction-y group of folks of the same name. Beats being the villain, right?

  • Earth's Magic by Pamela F. Service 2009

I'm one of the big mythological bosses in this Arthurian novel. I hang out with the Lady of the Lake and chill on Avalon. I also have a kid, with whom I have a really complicated relationship.
