The Yankee in Search of Adventures
- The Yankee tells how liars and spinners of tall tales wander the countryside. Again, Middle Ages = boring and people need to do something to pass the time… like wandering the countryside spinning tall tales.
- One of them—a woman—arrives in court and claims forty-five beautiful princesses are being held captive by a trio of ogre brothers.
- Though the Yankee is reluctant, the king is eager for him to take up the quest. The king, as has been noted, is not that bright.
- The Yankee asks the woman for her story. She says that she is Demoiselle Alisande la Carteloise, though she confounds him with her lack of straightforward answers and inability to draw a map to the castle. He eventually orders Clarence to take her away.
- Clarence returns and informs the Yankee that he'll have to take her with him. Hank the Yank makes up the name of a phony fiancée to discourage the idea, but it doesn't take. (Pro tip: phony fiancées need phony love letters and phony wedding dates… you know, details.)
- The Yankee struggles to get into his armor—a shock considering that it only weighs, like, a zillion pounds.
