  1. Which characters are viewed as heroes? Which characters are taught lessons? What are the lessons that they learn?
  2. Does the movie attempt to sympathize with its characters or empathize with them? What's the difference?
  3. Are the racist actions of characters like Officer Ryan or Jean Cabot justified? Does the movie provide an adequate explanation for why these characters act how they do?
  4. Why do Anthony and Peter see their carjacking as a valiant act of social justice? Are they trying to justify their own criminal actions, or do they actually believe their own rhetoric?
  5. Why does Graham decide to compromise his own principles? How do you think he will feel about it later?
  6. Does the movie treat all acts of racism equally? Are some actions viewed as worse than others?
