Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones)’s Timeline and Summary

Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones)’s Timeline and Summary

  • Kay and his partner, Dee, intercept INS agents arresting a group of undocumented immigrants. Kay pulls one of the immigrants aside and tells the others they can go on to the United States.
  • The oddball immigrant turns out to be an alien named Mikey. Mikey attacks one of the INS agents, forcing Kay to shoot it when Dee's too slow on the draw.
  • After erasing the INS agents' memories, he also erases Dee's.
  • Kay takes an NYPD Detective named James Edwards to Jake Jeebs's place to identify the weapon used by an alien assassin.
  • He erases Edwards's memory of the event but invites him to a Men in Black recruitment test.
  • After observing the test, he convinces Zed to accept Edwards into the agency.
  • Kay tells Edwards the history of the Men in Black and offers him the job.
  • After Edwards accepts, Kay deletes all traces of his identity and gives him his codename, Agent J.
  • While Jay delivers a baby squid alien, Kay questions the dad, Reggie, on why he's trying to get off the planet in such a hurry.
  • After questioning Edgar's widow, Beatrice, Kay realizes a bug has crashed onto Earth.
  • Kay and Jay visit the morgue. Jay tells him what Rosenberg said about the Galaxy being on Orion's Belt, but Kay can't make sense of it. He erases Laurel's memories.
  • Kay questions Frank and learns the Galaxy is really small, like a jewel, and the Bug plans to use its subatomic energy to destroy the Arquillians.
  • Kay and Jay encounter the Bug at the morgue. It escapes with the Galaxy and kidnaps Laurel, too.
  • They arrive at the Flushing Gardens just in time to shoot down the Bug's UFO.
  • The Bug attacks them and eats their weapons. Kay trolls the bug so hard that it eats him, too.
  • After retrieving his weapon, he destroys the Bug from the inside out.
  • Returning to MiB headquarters, Kay reveals to Jay that he's been training him as a replacement, not his partner.
  • Jay erases Kay's memories and replaces them with the story that he was in a 35-year coma. Kay reunites with his estranged wife.
