Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser Timeline & Summary
MoreClaire Beauchamp Randall Fraser Timeline & Summary
- Claire Randall falls through a stone circle and ends up two hundred years in the past, in Scotland, 1743.
- She ends up with a band of Scottish warriors, who keep her around because she's a nurse and knows how to treat their wounds.
- One young soldier, James Fraser, catches Claire's eye, and she spends a lot of time getting to know him at Castle Leoch.
- Unfortunately, no one knows who she is. Colum Mackenzie, the chieftain, thinks she's an English spy, while English captain Jonathan Randall thinks she's trouble.
- Claire tries to escape and return to the stone circle, Craigh na Dun, a couple of times and fails.
- She eventually ends up being pursued by the diabolical Captain Randall (ancestor of her modern-day husband, Frank), and in order to keep her safe, Dougal Mackenzie, Colum's brother, convinces Claire to marry Jamie.
- They have to consummate the marriage, too, and consummate they do.
- A day after they're married, though, Claire finds another opportunity to reach Craigh na Dun. She fails, and falls into Randall's clutches yet again.
- Jamie saves her... and then whips her for disobeying his orders to stay put.
- She tells Jamie she loves him. Who'd have thunk?
- And guess what? When Claire has another opportunity to go to Craigh na Dun, she decides to stay with Jamie.
- One day, Jamie goes on a hunting trip and Claire is almost burned at the stake, alongside her frenemy Geillis Duncan, for being a witch.
- Claire learns that Geillis is a time traveler like she is, and she tells Jamie she came from the future. He believes her.
- After meeting Jamie's sister, Jenny, at Lallybroch, Claire has to save Jamie from Randall—yes, he captures Jamie, too.
- She saves him, but not before Randall bashes Jamie's hand and rapes him repeatedly.
- They recover at an Abbey in France, where Claire nurses Jamie back to health and learns that she is pregnant.
