Just like how Thomas has memory-dreams in the first three books of the Maze Runner trilogy, Mark has memory-dreams in The Kill Order… except Mark remembers everything. Every detail, every feeling he felt, and every face he saw. Oh, and he can connect the dots (unlike Thomas).
For Mark, his memory of the past is a pretty negative characteristic. While many characters use their past to fuel them for the future, Mark tends to use his past to wake up sweating and screaming in the middle of the night.
Nightmares, they'll get you every time. Especially when they're about real events.
