War and Peace Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

R

OK, there isn't any full frontal here, but trust us, the book gets pretty explicit about the things people do for their sexual urges. But don't take our word for it. All you have to do is take one gander at the scene when Pierre can't stop thinking about Helene's naked body and what it would be like to get it on with her (Chapter 2.3.1). And then another gander at the way Anatole undresses Natasha with his eyes while she enjoys every second of it (Chapter 2.5.10). Now that is some seriously steamy stuff for the 19th century. Suffice it to say that this book assumes that it's talking to an audience of grownups who know a thing or two about what desire is like and how all-consuming it can be.
