Witch and Wizard Chapters 11-15 Summary

Chapter 11

  • Wisty is forced to change from her pink pajamas into a prison jumpsuit. Somehow this is the greatest indignity she has endured yet.
  • Whit and Wisty are hauled into adjacent jail cells, so they start to talk about their situation.
  • Another prisoner overhears them and promises they'll be stuck there forever. Not so comforting.
  • Wisty looks around and realizes the entire jail is filled with kids.

Chapter 12

  • Another kid explains to Whit and Wisty that the New Order government came into power when people weren't really paying attention, and now they're rounding up kids.
  • The kid also mentions that Whit and Wisty will have a trial. They don't find this comforting.
  • A guard comes along and tells Wisty to shut up, twisting her arm through the bars for good measure. Wisty bursts into flames again.
  • Wisty and Whit are removed from their cells and hauled to an interrogation room. Byron Swain enters.

Chapter 13

  • Byron encourages Whit and Wisty to confess their secrets. Trouble is, they really don't know what he's talking about.
  • Byron says that their friends have been informing on them, but Whit and Wisty seem unimpressed.
  • Byron calls Wisty a freak, so she calls him one right back. This does not go over well.
  • Byron goes to grab Wisty—and she shoots him with a lightening bolt. Whit is totally impressed.

Chapter 14

  • Whit wakes up crying. He just had a dream about Celia, his missing girlfriend.
  • Celia asks Whit how he and his sister and doing, and he says they're doing well, all things considered.
  • Whit asks Celia to explain what happened to her. She cries and tells him she has to go.

Chapter 15

  • Wisty thinks back on the good old days, when being in trouble meant getting detention. You know things are bad when you're homesick for detention.
  • She thinks about her parents but gets interrupted by two guards. She's off to see The One Who Judges. Shmoop predicts he's not the kind of guy who's fun at parties.
