At first glance, the power dynamics in Witch and Wizard seem straightforward. The One Who Is The One is all-powerful and he controls the government. Whit and Wisty are two teenagers who are just learning how to use their magical abilities. It seems like The One is going to win this war—if that's what it is—handily.
Then again, if he's so powerful, why doesn't he just defeat them already? Is it because he wants to somehow merge his power with theirs, like it states in the prophecy? Or is there some reason he can't defeat them? Whit and Wisty have something The One wants… which gives them power over him, too.
