Character Analysis
The Vanished Children...spooky. All we know about Ranghild Hansen, Solveg Christiansen, Birgit Svenson, Harald, and Leif is that they disappeared because of witches. We never learn anything about their personalities or what kinds of kids they were. We just know that they either vanished and/or turned into oil painting characters, chickens, stones, or porpoises. There doesn't seem to be any method to the madness, which makes the witches' desire to kill children seem even more random. Even if you're a good kid, you could be a witch's next victim.
