Sadly, there's a great need for animal patrol workers everywhere. Animals are abused and abandoned every day all around the world; someone needs to step in and help them.
The responsibility is huge, the risks are high, and the pay is low—but if you've got the proper training and the desire to do it, there will always be someone who wants to hire you.
