The job outlook—meaning the projected rate of change in employment—for audiologists for the years 2010-2020 is about 37 percent, which is really good; the average growth rate for all careers is just14 percent. So the need for audiologists is only going to grow and grow.
There are a LOT of job openings for audiologists in certain states: California, Ohio, Vermont, Kentucky, New Jersey, Montana, Wisconsin and Maine especially. While those may not be one of the states you care to live in, chances are that all 50 states (plus Puerto Rico) probably have openings—and will continue to have openings—for audiologists for a very long time.
