Odds of Getting In
While there aren't that many commercial divers out there, the field is growing at what the people who study exciting things like job growth consider to be a "high" rate (source). That's great news for those of you who look at nails and think about how much fun it'd be to hammer those things underwater.
In fact, it's so easy to get your feet wet (get it? Feet wet? That's a real knee-slapper) in this profession, that large contractors will often pay for your education costs in exchange for a long-term work contract (source). So, considering that people who still need an education can just sign up and have those costs covered, this is about as close to an "anyone has a shot" profession as you can get.
