There are roughly 3400 mathematicians in the United States (source). While job growth looks generally good (above 20%), it means approximately 800 positions will open up in the next ten years. That's not too many.

You can up your odds of actually landing a job by taking language courses, gaining experience in network design and security systems, spending your summers and free time interning, and pursuing advanced education. Build that CV.
