Character Role Analysis

Trevor

Trevor's more of an annoyance than a real threat, but boy is that kid persistent. When Jesus Boy shows up at their school, everyone else is shocked because he's white… but they're not furious about it. Trevor, on the other hand, acts like this is an affront to his world and makes it his business to start a fight with the new kid.

Because of Trevor's constant heckling, Frannie has to step in and defend Jesus Boy a couple times, and Trevor responds to this by calling her "Mrs. Jesus." Nice insult, kid. In the end, though, Frannie to feel compassion for Trevor; after all, he may be angry and annoying, but he is just lashing out because he's hurting inside.
