John Galardi Jr.

This one is a no-brainer since John—a.k.a. Gio—is our main guy through and through. Not only does he control the narrative, he's the one who learns a lot about himself over the course of the novel, and the change he goes through (from closed-off hater to honest lover) shows us that he grows a lot along the way, too. Plus, we're reading his thoughts the entire time. We become his confidant, and he, our window into this world. Yeah, there's just no question that John is our protagonist.
