What's Up With the Title?

Like the best art, this story's title works on multiple levels. On the surface, there's the obvious interpretation. This is pretty much what the journey will look like when your child heads out into the world. They'll deal with highs and lows and all of that good stuff, while somehow still managing to come out the other side.

And then there are the more figurative floors of this house. "The places you'll go" could refer to the emotional journeys your child will take, or it could be an allegorical walk through your child's careers and relationships. In that way, Oh, The Places You'll Go! can represent any life experience you want it to. Just as long as it's universal and epic. Meaning, Seuss could have been referring to one really interesting baking session, but it's unlikely.
