Slaughterhouse-Five Chapter 2, Section 15 Summary

Weary is working hard to save Billy, but he's got to be a jerk to do it, slapping him, kicking him, making him move.
This is because Billy wants to quit. He wants everybody to leave him alone: "You guys go on without me" (2.15.2).
