Thérèse Raquin Chapter 28 Summary

  • Thérèse and Laurent now feel intense hatred toward each other, and actively try to destroy one another.
  • Their constant fighting is utter torture for Mme Raquin. After all, she's forced to listen to the details of their horrible crime.
  • Thérèse continually tries to shift the responsibility of the crime to Laurent until he finally strikes her.
  • Mme Raquin seems to take comfort in seeing the couple tearing each other apart.
  • Because a lot of wrongs do make a right, we guess.
